HISTORY

Westheimer Plumbing and Hardware is a family-owned company whose owners have been in the decorative plumbing and hardware business for more than twenty years. The company is the combination of a retail business started by Marilyn Hermance in 1978 and a wholesale business started in 1991 by Doug and Bob Hermance. Starting with one employee and 1,000 square feet of space in 1978, the company has grown to thirty employees and more than 18,000 square feet of showroom and warehouse space in 2003.

Westheimer is an American Standard Distributor and an Authorized American Standard Showroom. This relationship also includes American Standard affiliated companies Porcher and Jado, permitting the company to offer a full range of top quality products at extremely competitive prices. In addition to these fine products, Westheimer is a distributor of Elkay kitchen sinks, Hansgrohe, Newport Brass, Rohl, and THG faucets, Jason and Ultra whirlpools, Toto china and an extensive collection of over and under counter sinks. Hardware manufacturers represented include Baldwin, Baltica, Schlage, Rocky Mountain, and Bouvet. In total, the company offers products from more than 100 manufacturers in all styles and price ranges.

The company carries the largest stock of American Standard, Porcher and Jado products in the city, and has an extensive stock of Baldwin, Elkay and Hansgrohe products. However, a substantial part of the company’s business is special order in nature. The company’s sales professionals have extensive training and experience in specifying unique products and in staying within customer budgets. Clients include custom builders, architects, designers, remodeling and plumbing contractors, and homeowners.
