Company History
In 1977, Marilyn Hermance had a vision of a new type of store that would allow Houston homeowners to find unique plumbing and hardware products for their homes. She started
with one part time employee, eight hundred square feet of combined showroom, office
and warehouse space. In the past thirty years, she has worked tirelessly to help her customers around the world find the perfect products for their projects.
Today, the company that grew out of her vision has two showrooms, a thirty thousand square foot warehouse distribution center, and thirty five employees.
In those thirty years she has been recognized for her contributions to our industry and our city. Some of the recognitions she has received are:
The Houston Chronicle- Houston Women on the move 1995
National kitchen and Bath Association – Deco Award 2003
Decorative Plumbing & Hardware Association- named a fellow 2005
In 1995 Marilyn left the business she started and joined her husband Bob a retired CPA with Ernst & Young and her son Doug. Westheimer Plumbing and Hardware, the company they formed combined the focus on the homeowner and in helping the contractors and subcontractors who play a critical role in making sure the products we sell perform as they were designed.
In 2002 we opened our second showroom in the Woodland’s area. In 2003 that showroom won the Houston A.S.I.D. award for the best commercial space design.
